Curiosity opened
the way.

Chandulal Amrutlal Thosani came to Mumbai from his home village to find work and support his family. A job in the dyes industry became the beginning of a lifelong interest in colour.

He learned through the work itself, paying attention to people, materials and the questions each day brought. Wanting to understand the chemistry behind it all, he turned to books at the library of UDCT, now ICT Mumbai. What began as curiosity became a patient commitment to teaching himself.

That combination of practical experience and study gave him the confidence to establish Jasani Colour Mfg Co. Over the years, his work grew into Jasani Colors and the Jasani Group. His willingness to learn remains an example we carry with us.

He built a legacy of trust and quality, earning goodwill that remains at the heart of the company today. His name and the confidence people placed in him continue to guide our work and drive the business forward. Carrying that goodwill into the future is a responsibility we hold with care.

1986 · THE BEGINNING OF UTTAM PRODUCTS

Learning became
a shared language.

In 1986, at the age of 18, Hemant Chandulal Thosani started Uttam Products under the Jasani Group, beginning a new chapter alongside the work his father had built.

Hemant earned a BSc in Chemistry from Mumbai University and an MBA from NMIMS. At a young age, he also learned from books at UDCT, now ICT Mumbai, where his father had once turned in his own search for knowledge. He brought that same willingness to learn into the family business.

Over the next four decades, he continued to build Uttam Products through steady work and a sense of responsibility to its customers and its people. Today, that experience is something he shares with his son, just as his father once shared his with him.

Carrying it forward,

Working alongside his father, Mohnish Hemant Thosani represents the third generation of the family business, with a wish to build on what came before and help Uttam Products grow further.

There is much to learn from a business shaped over so many years. For Mohnish, moving forward means listening to that experience while remaining open to new ideas and the changing needs of customers.

The opportunity to continue this work comes with gratitude. His grandfather’s journey remains a quiet reminder that progress begins with a willingness to learn, and is sustained by showing up, doing the work and caring about the people who depend on it.
